Warrior Legacy Project is a 100% volunteer‑run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening communities by empowering youth and supporting the mental health and substance‑abuse recovery of first responders.
Founded on the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to thrive, we focus on two missions that create lasting local impact. We provide scholarships that help children ages 8–18 participate in sports, arts, and music by removing financial barriers, and we offer confidential funding for mental‑health counseling, substance‑abuse treatment, and wellness services for active, retired, and medically separated first responders.
Our organization was built from real‑life experience and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by the people we serve. We believe that investing in young people today creates stronger communities tomorrow, while caring for those who dedicate their lives to protecting others — especially those battling mental‑health or substance‑abuse challenges — is both a responsibility and an honor.
As a fully volunteer‑operated organization, 100% of every donation goes directly to our programs. We are committed to transparency, integrity, and compassionate service, ensuring every contribution creates meaningful change where it is needed most.

Our Mission
The Warrior Legacy Project strengthens Colorado communities by investing in the future of our youth and honoring the dedication of our first responders. We provide financial assistance and essential supplies through scholarships in sports, arts, and music, empowering young people to develop their talents, build character, and pursue their passions. At the same time, we fund confidential mental‑health and substance‑abuse programs for first responders, ensuring they have access to the critical support needed to navigate the unique challenges of their selfless service. Together, we uplift our youth, support our heroes, and build foundations for a stronger tomorrow.

Origin Story
The Warrior Legacy Project was born from a simple truth: every community is shaped by the strength of its kids and the courage of its first responders. As a longtime first responder myself, I’ve seen the challenges our heroes face — the long nights, the sacrifices, and the silent battles with stress, trauma, and burnout. We have all seen the incredible potential in the kids around us, many of whom just need a chance, a little support, or the right opportunity to discover who they can become.
Over the years, I watched families struggle to afford the activities that help kids grow — sports, arts and music, the things that build confidence, creativity, character, and purpose. These are the outlets where kids learn discipline, express themselves, and find their identity. At the same time, I saw fellow first responders quietly fighting their own mental-health battles and or dealing with substance abuse without the resources or support they deserved. These two realities kept pulling at me. I knew something had to change.
The Warrior Legacy Project was created to bridge that gap.

Aaron Lee
Founder & President
Aaron Lee is a husband, father, proud grandpa, and a Colorado State Trooper with 15 years of service. Growing up, he was active in sports, arts, and music — experiences he’s seen slowly removed from schools. He founded the Warrior Legacy Project to restore those opportunities for youth and to fund confidential mental‑health and substance‑abuse support for first responders. His mission is rooted in service, gratitude, and strengthening Colorado communities.
